Location: USS Halo, En Route to Starbase 113

As I sit here in the center chair, I can’t help but reflect on the past week. Our crew is freshly returned from a well-deserved leave on Risa. After a week of rest and relaxation, it’s good to see everyone back in action. But for some, the transition is bittersweet. The USS Resolute's crew has now been fully reassigned to their new posts, following the loss of their captain, Captain Eris Talon. Her memorial service was a quiet one, completed on Earth while we were on leave. Talon’s passing weighed heavily on many of us, and though the ceremony was small, it provided closure for those closest to her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her crew.

Now, it's time to focus on our next mission. I’ve reviewed the upcoming orders, and while there are still unknowns, I feel confident that the Halo is ready for what lies ahead. The crew seems recharged, and I am eager to see us back in the field, especially with Commodore Paul Sleeford and the rest of the senior staff prepared to tackle anything that comes our way.

On a more personal note, I’ve noticed some changes at home. Kate has been acting differently lately—more tired than usual, and showing some subtle signs. Though she hasn’t said anything directly, I’m fairly certain we’re expecting another addition to the family. It’s too early to know for sure, but my instincts tell me I’ll be a father again soon.

Our daughter Katie is as curious as ever—she's seven now, and growing fast. Meanwhile, our adopted daughter Tess, who’s only six, continues to make me proud every day. She’s currently at Starbase 113, enrolled in science courses and doing exceptionally well for her age. Tess, being a mix of Romulan, Human, and Vulcan heritage, has faced challenges, but her resilience is inspiring. I couldn’t be more proud of her path, even at such a young age.

As we prepare to head to Starbase 113, I feel a mix of excitement and uncertainty. This mission could take us into uncharted territory, and I have no doubt we’ll be tested in new ways. But for now, I’m ready, the crew is ready, and it's time to get back to work.

End Log.
