Dersch rang the door chime.

Commander Martinez heard her chine and said "Enter!" Came a voice through the door.

The Lt. Colonel walked in. "Lt. Colonel Reporting In Commander" He said in a Uniform stanced.

"At ease Lt. Colonel. We are currently in my office you don't have to call me by rank in here. Please come in and have a seat." She offered him.

He then thought...Not call her by rank? I am the Marine XO on this Ship, If she were to die I would take her place if not the Marine CO would

"Anyways. How can I help you today?" She asked him.

"Wanted to Check in and See if there were any things I need to know about you. Temper? Any thing that could keep me from doing my job?"

"Well I am glad you asked Colonel. Please have a seat." She said.

"I do not have a temper surprisingly. I am much more concerned with the captain. I'm not sure if her past will affect her now and affect her judgement of being a commanding Officer. On the other note I know she is the most capable officer in Starfleet. I do have an assignment for you and it's here on board the Intrepid. You know those fighter jets we have in the hangar. They are brand spanking new. Right. Well I don't want you to test them. I want you to run a full system diagnostic on every single one of those on board. I have also made sure that there are other stuff for them as well." She explained.


"Mam, I am a Marine, Not a Fighter Pilot, and It seems you don't like the Captain"

"I never said I don't like the captain. I do like the captain. She will be a great captain. Are you doubting my ability as her first officer?" She asked.

"Commander I am Doubting your trust in our Captain. You seem to already think is not capable of Command." He said with a chilling voice

She sighed. "you maybe right. But I can also tell as a human, (not half human half betazoid) that she's doubting herself." She said.

"Don't you see her last name? Shes trying to live up to that"

"And I'm not stopping her from doing that." She argued. "you are doubting my ability of being first officer on board let alone, you don't think I'd be a good fit for being in command of my own vessel. Another thing I've noticed, is that you don't quite like me. I'm just trying to help her understand that as a Starfleet captain she cannot and will not be allowed to allow her past to cloud her judgement. But I guess you don't get that. I don't even allow my past to cloud my judgement from being first officer. But yet you are doubting me. Why's that?" She asked the Colonel. "Now is there anything else you want to discuss or is that everything mister?" She asked him. Her realizing that her job as executive officer, doesn't mean she wants to take complete control of the Intrepid. She wants to help her commanding Officer. But noticing that her captain doesn't want to have the help by her first officer makes it where she thinks that she is completely weak.


"No That is It" He said

"And I do apologize if it seems like I don't like her or that she doesn't have anything capable to be a commanding Officer. Anyways. Dismissed." She said.
