Mission:
Revenge Of Group Omega
Location: USS Intrepid
Master Warrant Officer Arctic Coquix, took a deep breath and eased her way along the corridor. She didn't pay any attention to the male marines who passed her.
"Hey sweetheart, what do you say we get something to drink?"
Arctic looked at the male. "What do you say we don't." Arc answered.
"Come on sweetie...."
"Some of us have work to do." Arc stated, continuing along the corridor.
"Some of us like to do something other than work." He kept pace with her. Showing no attempt to give way. "One....."
Arc stopped, back to the wall and looked at him. "Some of us, prefer to work." She was totally aware of three older men watching the pair of them from further down the corridor. "Find someone else to annoy." Watching him, Arc kept her face blank. ~Oops. Jerkwad.~ His right hand came out to land on the wall beside her head. Her right hand grabbed his right wrist and gave it one twist. Her leg wedged between his and he went down.
"On your feet Wilson. You owe the Master Warrant Officer an apology." Arc didn't look at either of them. Twisting left and continuing down the corridor. She knew what was coming next. It was always the same.
"You alright, Coquix?" Mince asked quietly, moving towards her, coming up behind her.
Arc didn't stop. "Can you smell my blood?" She asked softly. "I've got work to do."
Mince shook his head at his mate and stepped out of her way.
"You got something you wanna spill?" Butcher asked.
"She's DCE. One of Black's lot. Right arm's prosthetic." Mince stated equally as soft.
"Someone needs to make that known. A lot of people here, won't like Mad coming down on them, if someone plays with one of hers."
"She stays in the JT's or the vents." Ghost, the third marine stated. "And Blade's got eyes all over her. Mad'll get what he doesn't skin."
"The two of you ever think, I need to get this before it turns bad?" Butcher glared at both.
"Hey Butcher, Blade's looking for you and your idiot." Butcher ran one hand through his hair. "One of you grab my idiot. The other one guard my rear." He started down the corridor, in the direction Master Warrant Officer Arctic Coquix had disappeared. "And don't disappear. I'm gonna express my feelings when he's done, expressing his." Ghost looked at Mince and gave him a grin.
"What did I say I was going to do to you, if you did it again?" Her voice wasn't soft, and she ignored the group of marines who plastered themselves against the corridor walls, all of them looking everywhere else but at Blade and Arctic. Arctic wasn't calm, she was irritated, and Blade knew it. She'd poked him six times in the chest. He was counting.
"I believe it had something to do with skinning my nuts." Blade eyed the little blonde. "I am not going to let that idiot or anyone else play with one of Mad's. I owe her. If you have problems Coquix, then I'll try not to squeal when you skin my nuts. You don't like it, then find another vessel that doesn't have a Yack on it."
Arc took a step closer and gave Blade a broad smile, raising her right hand up towards Blade's chin.
"Better Blade, then me." Unstable wrapped one hand around Arc's wrist. "Go. We'll deal with Butcher's idiot, and he won't bother you again." A none to gentle push sent her down the corridor, and she knew what it meant. Discussion was over. She was one of Mad's and Blade and Unstable were, Yack survivors. They owed Mad. She was one of Mad's which meant she was watched. "Next time, choose somewhere other than the corridor." Unstable glared at Blade until he looked away. Blade watched Arc Walk down the corridor. "Say it brother, and I'll make you bleed." Blade licked his lips and grinned at Unstable, before raising both hands.
"Idiots." Arc muttered as she stopped before the vent and started freeing rivets. Removing the cover, she slid in, wiggling the vent cover out of the way, Arc forced herself to concentrate and block off what just happened. She knew this was going to happen. Mad had warned her. Mad had done more than warned her. She'd sat her down and told her the lot. Arc had heard most of it, it was something everyone wanted to hear. But what she'd got, was not what she'd expected. Mad had told her to think very carefully about going to the Intrepid, especially since there were three Yack survivors onboard. She hadn't thought much about what would happen. In the end, she hadn't done much thinking, she just needed to be herself. They'd been there when she boarded. At first, she tried to ignore them. But that didn't work. She was drawn to one of them, and that merely made things worse. The other two were like big brothers... Really bad big brothers.
"You wanna talk?" Her DCE partner asked, as she wiggled over his boots into place beside him, then shimmered into the adjoining shaft.
"Talk about what?" Arc asked quietly.
"Girl, you need to realise that everything echoes in here. And you can hear it all. I'm gay."
"Thanks, but I already knew that." Arc answered.
"Unstable, Blade and Silver had a conversation with the CEO before you arrived. You were not to be placed with anyone who had a hands problem." Grey stated. "They got everyone together, and told us, you were one of Mad Black's. We already knew there were Yack survivors onboard. I've got no problem with who you are. I just want a partner who knows what to do. If you came up through Maddison Black's school of DCE, then you do." Grey turned to look at her. "Just think about it, okay?"
Arc nodded, deciding now it was best to go in headfirst, rather than feet first. She unscrewed the rivets off the first vent, pausing when she heard Grey's voice.
"I'm telling you, you aren't going to fit. We got this zone because we're the smallest pairing."
"You givin her any problems?"
"You're three time's my size." Arc knew who Grey was talking too. Silver. The third Yack survivor. The biggest of the three. "You need to back off." Arc's eyes widened.
"I need to back off." It wasn't a question.
"You all need to back off." Grey stated. "You're driving her nuts."
"And that's bad?"
"Yeah. You gotta give her some space." Grey stated. "No one is going to touch her. She's on a ship full of marines. It would have taken one word to Black, and she could have gotten transferred elsewhere."
"How many sisters do you have?"
"Six. I am the only male." Grey answered.
"You hear something, and you don't pass it on and we're going to have words." Arc lowered her head and listened.
"He's out into the corridor." Grey announced. "Arctic, you okay?"
"Thanks."
