| Personal History | Jewel Marsden didn’t exist before 2399. Her complete identity was erased and remade, when she was identified as being an unwilling participant of a child sex ring. She was twenty seven years old, when details came to light, uncovered by an investigation into the kidnapping of a large number of children. Investigation into the children and adults who were found living and having lived on Aqua Colony 138, Jewel was identified as the daughter of an older sister and the man she believed to be her father. She was offered a new life by Starfleet, inclusive of a new name, identification, background, history and anything else she needed. Accepting the deal in return for testifying, she was shunned by others who refused to believe, saying Starfleet was making it all up. Attacked by a group of pregnant mothers, Jewel made her escape. The women who she had been, died and women she wanted to be was given life. Trading in a life on Aqua Colony 138, for a world in the stars, she became Jewel Marsden, a qualified Damage Control Engineer and joined Starfleet. Electing to wipe everything from her history, Jewel put it all behind her, and moved on. Only it wasn’t as easy as she had hoped. Jewel struggled with the constant stream of news articles and found herself tortured by the people she left behind, telling their stories, and saying Starfleet lied. It wasn’t until the end of the second year, that those left behind were forced to acknowledge that Starfleet hadn’t lied, they were the ones who had been lied too. Jewel turned down the offer of returning to Aqua Colony 138, and jumped feet first into her new life. But that didn’t make it any easier to cope. Two failed romantic encounters, an inability to push the past aside made it hard for Jewel to process. She accepted a transfer to a new colony, still in the construction phase, which allowed her to push everything back. Starbase 113, is her return and as she sees it her first step back into the living. Keeping away from anything not task related, Jewel works as many hours as she can. Pushing herself to forget. It is a slow process, but one she is determined to complete. The most horrid thing that she thinks will happen. Is that her part of Aqua Colony 138, will be revealed, and though she was an innocent victim, she will be exposed and identified, as one of those stupid idiots. |
